Explore our new exhibition dedicated to the work of the late French-Moroccan photographer, artist and activist Leila Alaoui in this virtual tour guided by writer and curator Ekow Eshun.
From setting up a travelling mobile studio to photograph the people of Morocco, to embedding herself within a Syrian refugee camp to document a community displaced by conflict, Alaoui's photography invites us to see and connect with the world, and the people she encountered, through her eyes. In this film, Ekow Eshun introduces three of Alaoui's photographic series featured in the exhibition, 'The Moroccans', 'No Pasara' and 'Natreen', and an unfinished film work, 'Devils Island', that explores France's history of colonialism.
